About me

I am a software engineer at Modular, a startup building next-generation AI infrastructures and developer platforms.

Before Modular, I was at SambaNova Systems building the MLIR-based compiler stack for Reconfigurable Dataflow Units (RDUs). And before SambaNova, I was the founding software engineer at Bigstream, building the whole software stack for big data acceleration, including compilers, runtimes, and toolchains for FPGAs.

Between finishing my degrees and the beginning of the startup advantures, I had the great pleasure to work as a research engineer at Qualcomm Research Silicon Valley, where I was working on the Pervasive Concurrency team to maximize the performance of heterogeneou multi-core platforms (Qualcomm MARE), and Qualcomm's LLVM polyhedral optimization.

I did my Ph.D. work on Out-of-order Parallel Discrete Event Simulation for Electronic System-Level Design with Professor Rainer Dömer in the Center for Embedded Computer Systems (CECS) at University of California, Irvine from 2007 to 2013.

I have a B.S. (2004) and an M.S. (2007) in Computer Science and Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China.

My research work focus on Parallel Computing and Compilers; Big Data Acceleration; System-level Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation.
